More details

Much has been written regarding this superb album and this is one of the very first discs to be produced back in March 1963.

Please Please Me is the first official album to be released by The Beatles

The credits for tracks 1 and 2 on Side One and for tracks 4 and 6 on Side Two on this disc are credited to Northern Songs Ltd, indicating that this disc is an early SECOND PRESSING, (first pressings credit these tracks to Dick James Music).

In 1963 the majority of record players only provided a mono reproduction.  The stereo version was therefore only obtainable by special order.  I have read figures that suggest under 1,000 stereo discs of this second pressing were produced.

The disc itself is in good condition.  There are several light marks however there is nothing feelable.  It remains bright and glossy and plays superbly, except for one or two 'pops and crackles' - even in the quieter sections and between tracks.

I visually grade the disc as VG- but it plays VG/VG+.

There are several visible spindle marks to the centre hole however it is not unsightly (please refer to the photographs).

The sleeve is the original Ernest J Day version and although very worn on the base of the sleeve in this area, you can see the letter 'P' of the words  'Photo: Angus McBean' detail starting directly below the second 'S' in the word 'Songs' (proving this is a genuine early pressing sleeve).

There is some general creasing, dinks to the four corners and edge wear but the spine is strong and clean so overall, not a terrible example - which I critically grade as 'G-'.

I can't really say much more, if you need more information or more photographs please contact me.

You can be assured that the photographs listed here of the disc and cover are photographs I have taken and are of the actual item I am offering for sale.
